Highfields Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work

Pre – Requisites:

There are no pre-requisites to attend the initial Level 3 First Aid at Work.  Learners must advise facilitator of any physical limitations – learners will be required to carry out a variety of practical activities that will require working at floor level.

If you are attending a Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work Requalification, please note, you will be required to submit an in-date First Aid at Work certificates on booking, to ensure you meet the course requirements.  This evidence will be submitted to Highfields.

Learning Aims:

By the end of the course, you will:

  • Understand your role and responsibility as a Qualified First Aider
  • Know how to perform effective practical skills for CPR, Recovery Position, choking and many more
  • Identify signs and symptoms of shock, along with treatment
  • Deal with minor injuries
  • Be able to work with fractures, sprains, strains and dislocations
  • Understand a variety of major illnesses
Course Duration:

The initial Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work course is delivered over 22 hours, 3 days.  Learners will be provided with refreshments during the course. 

If you are attending the Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work Requalification, this course is delivered over 14 hours, 2 days.

Assessment & Quality Assurance

As part of our quality assurance process with Highfields Awarding Body, we will submit all completed assessment papers for moderation.  We will also carry out recordings of all practical work which will also be submitted to Highfields for verification.

On review of the assessment evidence, Highfields will provide the electronic certificates – this process can take up to 4 weeks.
