Insight Training Academy has been delivering Manual Handling All Wales Passport, in accordance with Welsh Local Government Association (WLGA), for 15 years and continue to raise the standards of delivery.
At Insight Training Academy, we ensure the highest standard of training is given to Health and Social Care employees and are committed to changing the culture within the industry by providing consistent support and guidance, even after the training has finished.
Course Syllabus
Pre – Requisites:
Learners attending this course must have attended an initial 2 day Manual Handling All Wales Passport Scheme previously, preferably within the last 12 months.
Course Duration:
This course is delivered over 1 day, in accordance with the WLGA, between 0930 – 1630.
Learning Aims:
By the end of the course, you will:
- Understand your role and responsibility within Module A – Theory of Manual Handling
- Carry out effective safety checks on equipment used
- Perform a variety of activities that cover the following modules (All Wales Passport Scheme):
- Module B – Inanimate Load Handling
- Module C – Supporting Individuals to Sit, Stand & Walk
- Module D – Bed Mobility
- Module E – Lateral Transfers
- Module F – Hoisting
All learners will be required to carry out safe practices of techniques and the use of equipment.
Learners will also be required to complete a safety/health questionnaire at the start
Assessments
Learners will be assessed via a short multiple-choice questionnaire to ensure they fully understand the theory of manual handling. Following this, learners will be observed during practical activities to ensure accuracy of techniques.
Facilitators will complete required documentation at the end of the training session. Learners may be signed off as competent, within the classroom, or not. If the learners has not been signed off, further feedback will be shared with the customer with the next steps and guidance.
Feedback
Feedback will be provided to customers following all training sessions. Facilitators are required to provide a summary of learners’ attitudes, behaviours, punctuality and interaction during the training sessions.
Insight Training Academy will also provide customers with any information in relation to learner disclosures.
Certificates
Certificates will be sent, via email, to the main contact of the customer, within 5 working days of course completion. Course paperwork will also be shared to provide customers with a clear view of what has been completed.
